Iphone 3g on 02 1 month old

Hi Everyone, in the end my brother took over my old orange contract for me because his phone broke, so with that out the way i decided to go onto 02 and have the Iphone 3g.

Had it one month now and after a few mishaps with 02 they added the insurance on for me and I didnt want it and was on my first bill but they have now taken taht off my second bill for me.

I have more problems, on the Iphone I have a full signal and 3G is fine, but every now and then I cannot send texts or recieve texts also the same with calls, on Sunday my dad had an accident with one of fishing hooks and I had to phone for an ambulance only to find that my iphone wouldnt make the call, luckily i was at home so used that phone.
Anyway after getting back from the hospital my phone was working again so didnt think anything of it, but it is happening more and more now, happened Monday night aswell and Lastest for about 30mins couldnt call or text, and then came back for 10mins and then went again for about an hour, also happened today but that was for only about 20mins.

Point is I have told 02 about this and they told me a few things to try which I have and they havent stopped it, so emailed them and they ahve said nothing else they can do, so popping into the shop at the weekend.
Want to know though if they refuse to do anything do I ahve any legal right to cancel the contract because Im paying for something that isnt working, they have said there is no problem with there lines and that, and I have a full signal when this has happened, the phone is only a month old so they should do something shouldnt they????

Any advice would be great im on a 24 month contract so dont really want to go another 23months with this problem.

Thank you
Angela

P.S. sorry its a long message

No network will guarantee a signal, and so no network will guarantee you can place an emergency call. Glad your Dad's OK now..

Log a fault with Apple, or if you can book an appointment at a genius bar in a apple store. Send back / Take the phone in and after a few tests they'll most likely swap it out. Genereally intermittant faults are a pig to trace and the Genius bar won't have the diagnostic hardware so will just swap it.

You would be pretty unlikely to get the contract cancelled, the hardware (iphone) and airtime are two seperate contracts. The Airtime provider is enabling you to make calls, it's just your phone preventing it. And yes I realise they are both O2 just different arms.

NOTE you need to book the genius bar appointment not just turn up....
