Hello,
I'm off to Vancouver, Canada on Friday for a driving holiday. Whilst on the AA site, it said an international drivers permit is recommended for Canada.
The rental company is Thrifty. Does anyone know whether I need an IDP, or would a FUll UK driving licenese be enough?
Thanks

You do not need an IDP to rent a car in Canada. I have been to Canada four times in the last three years - Vancouver twice - and have never had to produce an IDP. I have rented with National/Alamo and Hertz and have only ever shown my full UK driving licence.
The RAC states that you do not need an IDP clearly on their web site:

Don't worry about having an IDP and have a great trip!0
