Thanks for all your suggestions. Won't be going to Harry Ramsden's though!!!
St Fagan's looks interesting - a bit like a tiny version on Beamish which the whole family enjoyed - how come something looking so good is FREE?
Roath Park also sounds a possibility and maybe Techniquest if it pours!7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
I LOVE st fagans and so did the children. If you go then make sure you get to the farmhouse with the pigs and ducks etc. Plenty of room there to run around so they`ll sleep well at the end of the day. You`ll need comfy shoes and I would take a picnic. It is very big0

For the record...
Because of the rain, alcohol and gossip, we ended up having late lazy breakfasts. We took the children to a couple of local parks to let off steam between the showers.
Can't remember the names but one was set around a lake which contained a commemortation to Scott in the form of a clock tower shaped like a lighthouse.
The other was a more formally planted country park, again with a pond sort of under the M4 in the Thornhill area.
Saving the other ideas for another time - would really like to go to cardiff bay and St Fagans.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

Yeah, reminded me of my days as a student in Swansea - it seemed to be typical South Wales rain!!!
We were lucky and did manage to dodge the showers and got out and about without getting drenched.
Just found some pictures of Roath Park and it looks like where we went. It had a nice little play area with long slide and a spiders web and a very impressive PC swing that was obviously designed for a larger child with disabilities. The houses on either side looked very impressive although we were assured that one side was more up-market than the other!7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0
