We are visiting friends in Cardiff next weekend and was hoping that you could help with ideas for an afternoon out with 10yr and 4(nearly 5)yr old girls.
It would need to occupy both our family and our non-child orientated friends. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks

St Fagans Folk Museum has good stuff for kids; it's on the western edge near Wenvoe. Also educational and adults will appreciate its quiet charm and the historical dimension.

I have to agree with St Fagans. Free entry too just £2 to park all day. At the end of visit you can then pop down the road to Ikea.

Roath Park is great for children of that age - safe fenced off play area and great walks around the gardens or take boat out on the lake.
On Sunday there is a 10km KRUF race (on foot) in the City Centre and the Bay is always worth a visit for a look at the Millennium Theatre, boat trip, land train ride, Harry Ramsdens or visit the locations that Dr Who was filmed at.0 -

Castle Coch is worth a look although you have to pay to go in.0

I agree with St Fagans, or Techniquest at Cardiff Bay.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0

Techniquest is the best place in the world to go to for kids (and big kids!); it's a science museum where all the displays are interactive and fun to play with, so you get demos of gravity working, etc. Very educational, but prob my fave place to go when I was a kid. Personally, I hate St Fagans, but that's probably cos I was forced to go there and do worksheets every year with school. Cos Techniquest's in the Bay, there's a fair bit for adults to see around there too. I wouldn't go to Harry Ramsden's (the famous fish and chip place) though, I didn't think it was all it was cracked up to be.0

we had an awful experience in harrys a few yrs back and havent braved it since lol0

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks Harry Ramsden's is over rated.
I also have to say I can't understand how anyone can say St Fagans is boring. I didn't even know they had worksheets to do. St Fagans is especially good at Halloween. You have too book early though.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
