Got the parcel today. I went for a Sony K750i on Orange (Panther 45 - 400minutes/100texts for £45 PM). The contract is 12 months with 12 month cashback. It looks more professional than PhoneBoxDirect which had photocopies.
TMO sent me a real despatch note with a real company header. A few things I've noticed. The phone had already been activated and registered for me and the memory had been inserted. No calls had been made though.
This is a bit different from the despatch note which says clearly
"Your phone has come with a transit bar, which prevents any unauthorised use of your handset. To have this bar lifted and start using your new mobile, please call the Orange Customer Service Team."
Problem is that there was no bar and given the right SIM, nothing could have prevented me from using the phone.
But that was a minor problem.
The K750i is a lovely phone, 25MB memory and 64MB MS Duo card included. You get a FM radio, a 2MP digital camera with a powerful light and a 4x digital zoom and a lot more.
Registration with Orange's website is very easy although I would strongly advise you to call the 150 customer service to get your account number sorted.
Overall my first impressions of TMO are positive even if I was somewhat apprehensive. I am on my way to get a second handset for my wife this time, without forgetting to go through Quidco this time.
