 Just phoned to close a credit card that's clear, he kept banging on about how I needed to keep a credit card as a back up and that they didn't want to loose me as a customer....offered to up my credit limit from £2500 to £5000....then tried throwing in 0% for 6 months on transfers...no...really dont need it thanks....ok 12 months 0% and we can offer you a bank account with a £2000 overdraft limit! Errrr.....no...I just want to close the card......

Was put through to the "lets try and sell you something else" department who then offered to up the limit to £6000 with a 2% life of balance offer.

I ended up getting quite shirty but it's now closed.

And there was me thinking they were cracking down on this sort of thing.

That sort of thing makes me really cross too, Pooky! Not helpful for a nation full of in the red people!

Am sure I posted in here earlier.

Very normal boring day (went for a wander, sold old phone, did more wandering) Then I went home and got into my gym kit and very (I was SO scared I'd fall over or make a fool of myself) tentatively went and did Week 1 Run 1 of C25K...I didn't fall over but I do look funny running....and the £6 TK Maxx sports bra (Shock Absorber, saw the same one in another shop for £35) does the job in keeping the giant kajungas down!

OOooo SRM sounds interesting visit to get your gait analysis done!

Im having a carppy day, nothing in particular just having a black cloud day. Need to make some money as I am skintier than a skint thing from skint land and currently don't have enough money to buy food let alone petrol to get to Bun's later in the month. Can anyone remember the websites that are good for listing books? Amazon is ok for some bits but selling books for 1p isn't going to feed and put petrol in the car lol

Thanks Sal-I'm quite looking forward to it! They originally couldn't see me till next week, but they just called with a cancellation tomorrow, so I am going right after boot camp. Man from running shop reckons I need orthotic inserts, he said he could sell me some trainers that would sort out my R foot, but would cause new probs in my L one. Hey ho....I guess if I was a kid nowadays the NHS would sort it, but back in the 60's I was just left to get on with it. As a consequence I have claw toes as well as the shortened leg, fixed ankle and super high arch-not to mention the 2 size difference between feet!!
Elfen-where did you get the running prog from?

thought you'd all find this useful to read. Quite scary stuff really and sounds like we'll have to have a new way of thinking for avoiding fake bank websites when we log on to do our banking.

In other news, utterly carp day. To the point of I got home and opened my water bill and it's going up by £8 a month and I just sat and cried for a couple of minutes at the futility of it all.

I found out I hadn't got the job. Turns out the delay was due to a sudden re-structure and they almost didn't appoint and then did, but someone else (and not my colleague either!).

I have a colleague who is in the loft with me in the afternoons. I've mentioned her before but she does nothing day in day out other than talk on her mobile to her OH, friends, arrange washing machine/fridge freezer etc to be fixed, people in another office, or if she isn't doing that, filling in job applications at her desk (and believe me it can be all the time without doing work!). She can talk bullshiiiite so well she can then make out she is doing wonderfully amazing. Her 3 year contract is coming to an end and the work (what little there is of it) is being handed over to an outside company. She met them today - and they offered her a year's contract to run it - on 4k a more than she is currently on. She can work from home, they will give her a taxi account (her driving phobia is worse than mine, believe it or not) and I just found myself wondering where I'm going wrong.

She then said 'oh, we'll need a part time administrator in October if you end up needing it'.......I replied rather tersely 'I am looking for a managerial post as I used to have. I am looking to go back up in my career'. Talk about a slap in the face to how I am viewed even though people know what I used to do :(

I was talking to the head of service and slid in the information about the jobs at Weymouth college that are full time and identical to my afternoon contract job (and more money!!). Her reply wasn't 'now don't go applying for them, we don't want to lose you', it was 'I'm sure that would be too far for you to travel'.

I am hungy, very hungry. I have drunk about 7 pints of water today to keep the hunger pangs at bay. :(
