Humax FOXSAT-HDR or Dreambox 800 HD?

I have Sky+ equipment and have narrowed it down to change to one of these set top boxes. The question is, which one?
Also, should I get away from using the satellite dishes and buy a decent freeview aerial and therefore look at Freeview rather than Freesat?
I can get the FOXSAT for £231 and the Dreambox for £188 (both are plus delivery).
Advice, please!!!

If choosing between Satellite and Freeview, remember that with Freeview you will always be stuck with the BBC and ITV programmes for your region. With satellite you can watch any region. This makes a difference when ITV shows films but each region has a different one, you can choose. When BBC or ITV show football but different matches in different regions, you can choose.
Anyone in the UK can have HD on satellite now, Freeview HD is being rolled out slowly.
Although you may not watch every single channel, there is a greater channel capacity on satellite than on Freeview so you will always have more channels.
The Humax has 320GB disc but I don't see the capacity of the Dreambox. Recording in HD eats up a lot of disc space so that is something to consider.
The Dreambox has usb and also a card reader, which can be a big plus0 -

The dreambox has a whopping 800GB harddisk. However, after a bit of research, it appears there are a LOT of fakes around....so now I'm stuck as to where to buy one. It seems better for my needs - has lots of outputs and as you say, the USB and memory card options are a bonus.Happy with my advice? The please use the 'thanks' button vvvvvvvvvvvvv0 -

I have Freesat HD, Freeview and FreesatfromSky.
I far prefer the Freeview channel line up.
You do not get Yesterday, Dave x 2 and a few other channels on the satellite channels. ( for free ).0 -
UPDATED: The DreamBox 800 does not come with a harddisk installed - you have to chose your own and add it.
That makes it a no go for me - sure, I can update it later on if it fails (or gets too small) but it starts to make the cost more expensive. No doubt the Humax can be upgraded anyway...Happy with my advice? The please use the 'thanks' button vvvvvvvvvvvvv0 -
If you want to get technical, satellite has far more bandwidth available to it, and Freeview is a bit of a squeeze and had to have a big reorganisation for the HD channels. Might be worth knowing for the future. If I had a dish sitting there I'd certainly use it.0

Take note...for 188 for the dreambox its defo a clone as in
not an original dreambox. A clones from China made up of
sub standard parts and original dreambox 800HD will set you
back over 300 quid, i just paid 330 for a dreambox 500hd
from dreamboxshop.0 -
Hi
A DM800hd original is circa £399
The one quoted will be a clone
Some clones are not too bad
You need to recent Ferrari's sim if you want to use the dreambox to its full capabilities - and I dont mean a hard drive
