Before you do anything else, dig out your agreement with Europcar and tell us the EXACT wording about parking fines.0

Found this on their website if it helps

4.2 Use of the Vehicle
You are liable for all fees, taxes, fines and penalties incurred in connection with the use of the Vehicle and for which Europcar is charged, unless they have arisen through the fault of Europcar.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Hi ,, many thanks
I have emailed Europcar and requested the T's and C's as they were hired through my company....
So I will get a copy and place on here for all to see.
I called Customer complaints at Premier INN who have given me a reference no and are dealing with it. Said it would take a few days,,,
Called Natwest to dispute but as they have not received payment request they can't do anything.
I don't want to cancel or lose card...
If you dont want to get charged I suggest that you lose your card, they will just send you out a new one.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.
PRESS THANKS

I have just got home and found a parking eye fine.... I mean invoice on my mat. At first I cursed, swore got angry, then !!!!ed off...... all the usual reactions. Then afer reading this and other sites I am just angry with Parking Eye and relieved I decided to google them.
In my case, I took my wife shopping and parked in a retail park in Havant Hampshire. I didnt see any signs or parking restrictions limiting the free parking to 2 hours, and we were in the shops on the retail park for a little over 3 hours, spending a great deal of money.
I am so angry I am going to do what all Englishmen do when faced with adversity....I am going to write a letter, not to Parking Eye as that would be a waste, but to Sports Direct, Next, Peacocks, Halfords, Hobbycraft,Pet city & Laura Ashley as they must have appointed Parking Eye to spy on the customers so I will complaining about the way they treat their customers and stating that I will never visit the retail park again....
That should sort them out.
As to Parking Eye I will ignore the Invoice and subsequent letters thanks to this site. Thanks:T0 -

"in the T&C's it does say Parking Notice , fines, etc..."
Does it really say "etc..." ?
Exact wording and punctuation from the agreement please.
On a side note when signing rental agreements you are liberty to amend the terms and exclude private parking companies. If the rental company do not accept your conditional acceptance of the contract then there are two obvious conclusions.
The rental company company is probably knowingly exploiting these 'tickets' to make money from you.
You should definitely take your business elsewhere.0 -
See post 13 for their terms on their website, my reading of it is, if they have been charged for a fine, but they haven't so they shouldn't be passing this onto youExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. The website is completely irrelevant. It is the wording of the signed agreement that matters.0

how can it be irrelevant , I have hired cars before online and you agree the terms there before you pay, when you enter your card details the contract is made, isn't it?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. With an on-line agreement and absent any reference in that process to any other documents then yes I would agree. However I would have strong doubts about being able to prove terms as web pages can and do change. I would expect reference to a stored document that was under rigorous change control such that terms of the contract at the time of establishment were guaranteed.
I was of course referring to paper copies, I should have made that clear.
I would never undertake such a contract via a website as it removes the opportunity for conditional acceptance of the offer and presents a few issues re the provable identity of the contracting party.0
