Just received a Private eye Parking Notice from Premier Inn Hotel in Aberdeen.
I was actually Staying at the Hotel !!
And parked my car to check in to the hotel.. in fact the ticket matches the check in time..
I was in the car park for 30 minutes whilst checking in. Then went out again to meet clients.
It was a hire car and the hire car company have also slapped £30 admin fee on top just for good measure.. As it was sent to them,,,
so now it's £110 for parking in the hotel I was actually staying..
Unbelievable...
I won't be paying..... But the Hire company has my credit card details..

Refer the hire company to this article http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2009/5/28/question-private-parking-fines-fleets-urged/30698/. Carefully read your hire contract, it will probably state that you are responsible for speeding and parking fines and their fee. Point out that this is not, as stated in the article, a legitimate fine and you will not be paying it or their fee and that any charge to your credit card will be disputed with the card company. This thread suggests the form for a letter https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/30083447#Comment_300834470

Its not a fine for s a start, and your hire car company should not be passing this onto you , check their terms, they are passing on unenforceable invoices to you, and I am sure their terms would say parking tickets, these are not them. Ask for your money back, and ask them not to send invoices to you from third parties.
These maggots from private eye don't deserve your money, they are part of a scam, and they won't take you to court as they lose every single time!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Check the precise wording of the hire agreement. By all means post them here.0

Is the parking company actually called "Private Eye"? I think you probably mean "Parking Eye". I doubt that the satirical magazine has gone into the private parking business. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

If Private Eye have, surely just reply to their unenforceable invoices citing the response given in Arkell vs Pressdram.0

I think that Premier Inn still opperate their "Good Night Guarantee" which will refund your accommodation costs if anything spoils the experience of your stay.
Regardless of whether the hire company pass on this charge (or just take it despite it being an unenforacable invoice) contact Premier Inn and tell them how unhappy you are with this and request a full refund under the terms of their guarantee.0 -
thanks for all the replies
Sorry it is Parking Eye (where was I think Private Eye)
anyway I have phoned the Car Hire company and they said they will take payment  But as I have a dispute if it's found that I am correct then they will refund ALL money. But not without taking it first,
I smell a rat here and basically will end up having a problem getting this back.
Iam an trying to dispute or put the CCard company wise that I will be disputing it.
I have actually spoken to the hotel and they confirmed it happens ALL the time.

Hi ,, many thanks
I have emailed Europcar and requested the T's and C's as they were hired through my company....
So I will get a copy and place on here for all to see.
I called Customer complaints at Premier INN who have given me a reference no and are dealing with it. Said it would take a few days,,,
Called Natwest to dispute but as they have not received payment request they can't do anything.
I don't want to cancel or lose card...0
