Upgrade weirdness

Hi everyone,

I'm on Orange and reached the end of my contract a few months ago. A few weeks back I was phoned up and offered an upgrade by someone I assumed was Orange (forgetting that they don't actually do that). It sounded like a good deal and I accepted, they said they would send me my phone but nothing ever arrived.

Thinking about this now, I realise that I have no idea if the bloke actually said which company he was from, or (and this is really bad on my part I know) whether I gave out any personal information on the phone. I phoned Orange who checked my account and said no upgrade had been recorded, so I'm not feeling too anxious about it at the moment. I was just wondering if anyone else has come across anything like this. I'm hoping it will just go away but obviously it may all blow up in my face so any advice/stories will be much appreciated!

Oh - and yes, I will now be very careful when offered upgrades via the phone (especially when giving out personal information) - I've taken them up before and have had no problems but something about this seems a bit fishy.
