Son coming home, what benefits

Son maybe returning home, he is 17 years old in a weeks time, he was on income support, it has been suspended until they get a letter comfirming he is no longer at college, if he comes home, what benefits does he get? Or do i just put him back on child benefit and child tax? Does he have to be in full time education before i can apply for child benefit?
What benefit would he get for coming home, if any at all?

Thank you

Well, he'll have a roof over his head, a warm house, food in the fridge. I imagine he might even get his washing done. And, of course, the love of a good mother. What more could he ask for?

I bet you're highly delighted your son is coming to stay with you, how wonderful. :) which will no doubt more than make up for any benefit :)

Wow, how helpful is that ? The OP is asking a civil question re child benefit here, she is not asking for a social commentary. If anybody actually knows would they please answer ? if not then don't !

OP you will get more support here, but more info would be needed first, i.e you say you do not work, are you on JSA/IS? Is he planning on more education/looking for a job?

Can you give more info about the household circumstances so that we can give you definite advice?

I find your OP rather vague to give an answer to.

You need to give much more details for a detailed answer.

    why was he on IS?

It is very hard today for a minor to claim IS.

What is your status and are you already claiming benefits?

if you are what benefits and what family do you have at home now?

What are your sons intentions in the near future ie. education, work etc.
