Wayne: Yes, I have a goji bush (bought from Mr Fothergill's, I think) It hasn't flowered yet, probably because it's in a too-small pot and needs feeding. You only need one as they are self-fertile. But to show you how easy they are to grow, at the end of last year I sowed the seeds from dried berries bought in a supermarket - and they germinated like mustard and cress! I now have 8 healthy young plants, ready to pot on. They will probably take a few years to flower and fruit, but not bad,eh?
I believe those columnar fruit trees are ideal fro growing in pots but have no experience of them myself0 -

Cheers, id have never thought or heard of goji berrie shrubs! Not sure id like the flavour tbh, and one of my things is to grow fruit we eat a lot, and with fruit been quite expensive i could see the benefits of saving money hopefully long term.
Like with the strawberries, we get oceans of the things and theyre lovely.
Regards the fruit trees too, they look like they could be nice on your patio in pots, but whats their fruiting like?, thanks for your advice.:beer:2016 Money challenge - £2900 -
I've never heard of columnar trees, are they really tall and thin? I wanted fruit trees but no room for them so bought 2 dwarf apple trees and a dwarf pear which will eventually go into 60cm planters, no idea what the fruiting will be like though they only get 6 foot tall.Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0

I have 2 column apple trees. The green rocket I've had for a while and my dad bought me the red to go with it on Tuesday. Label says they don't need staking or pruning. I think the spread is 40cms and height is 2m. I'll go take a pic later, but yeah, basically a straight tree.

Do you have your trees in pots or in the ground.:beer:2016 Money challenge - £2900 -
Well just put raspberries and blackberries in there own container, however im going to put a couple of raspberries in a small part in the garden and see what happens.
The look well in there tall zinc planters, hopefully we will get enough fruit to keep us going, should be more next year!
Next thing put red cherry shrub in large pot, and get a dwarf blueberry bush, and maybe even a black currant shrub!:beer:2016 Money challenge - £2900 -
I have some goji berry plants, not done anything yet, only got bigger. I haven't tried the fresh berries, but I did buy a packet of dried ones. They are a dark red, similar size to large raisins and taste a bit like dried dates to me, perhaps not as sticky textured though.0

Ive got a question about red currant bushes. Mine is in a pot, and planted it last year, however it appears to be only producing more foliage, no fruits or flowers, what can i do about it thanks:beer:2016 Money challenge - £2900
