I'm using similar accounts to max2002ad:-

Alliance & Leicester (current a/c, savings, cash ISA)
    ICICI Bank (HiSave a/c)
Regular savings accounts (A&L, Halifax, Lloyds TSB, Ipswich BS)
    Morgan Stanley (cashback credit card)

The principle to follow is to pick each product from one of the best providers (using Martin's articles, comparison tables etc.) whether that be all from the same Bank or (more likely) a different Bank for each.

As kenshaz points out in the OP, there may be issues of customer service or wanting local branches which may influence your requirements. For example, I used to operate an Intelligent Finance current account (for the interest rate) along with a First Direct current account (for deposits at a HSBC branch and an initial incentive).
  • Paying for everything possible with a conran credit card (1% Cashback)
    Morgan Stanley (cashback credit card)
are these cards one and the same- if not who is conran with? when do you get cashback? are you paying fee for card etc? is it worth paying council tax, tv licence etc using this?

Conran credit card is owned by conran and is issued by MBNA.
You get 1% cashback on all spending on the anniversary of getting the card.
This money is credited to your statement.
There is no fee to pay.
For further information read martins article on credit cards.
This card is available through atleast 1 cashback site but i can remember which one i am affraid.

I have many different accounts and products right now, and yes all have their differerent uses. I'd recomend the Abbey 7% regular saver if you have money to spare. Also I'm looking at getting the GE everyday money cashback credit card, but I'm currently building up debt at 0% ready to stooze on another card so there's no point in me getting it right now.
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

I have two current accounts with the RBS,and their online internet account, one current account pays my direct debits and the other currrent is the card for spending on. I have an ICICI account and a Halifax regular saver and high interest current account with £2500 in it.
I have a Nationwide flaxi account and credit card for spending abroad

Kenshaz - I am so surprised that you use Halifax, i kinow you used to have your mortgage there until you paid it up.

awww don't RBS offer you a regular saver at the same time? = probabaly not the best bank in the world

I think this is lager talk - PROBABLY - as what is best to one person is not to others. Maybe due to age, profession, gender, and well .......

In reply to regular saver 1 i think you are missing the whole point of the discussion.
Everybody aggrees that there is not one bank that is good for everything. but what the original post was asking is what systems do people use to make their system the best bank in the world for them.
See my post above for further clarification.
What system do you use regular saver ?
