Blackberry Curve 8520 battery life?

hey all
I got a BB Curve 8520 last week and love it. But I have notice that the battery life isn't great. I charged it for 2 hours (til full bars and 100% in status) 26 hours ago and now it's down to 50%.
I'm a moderate user. Mainly text and BBM not internet.
Is this standard?
My last phone, Samsung Tocco, would go at least 2 full days before dropping from 3 to 2 bars, even after 18months.
