The Sky+ con

So how is it that, if you cancel your Sky subsciption, Sky are allowed to send a command to your Sky+ box disabling the capabillity of the box to record?

Surely, having paid a subscription for a year and given that I own it, that's wrong? You're entitled to record free sat TV so why should Sky be allowed to disable part of the box you own? Is there away around this (other than paying them £10 a month of leaving the box unplugged for months) such as a mod?

  • Im afraid theres not away around it , they can stop your sky+ services when you dont have a active subscription with them or make you pay a tenner a month for it on its own.

It was suggested to me previously to look at a Humax PVR. What's this one like and would it plug straight in to my twin Sky dish connectors?
