SKY HD Box for existing HD customer

I took out my HD subscription early, when there were no offers, I bought my own box on Ebay.
I telephoned Sky last week to see what deal I could get on a new box. After being passed around, a rep said if I cancelled my HD subscription and immediately asked to be put through to upgrades and opened a new one, I could have a box for £60 (self installation charge).
I am happy to do this if my HD is continued without a brake and I am not paying additional charges for the month when one subscription stops and the next starts.
It all sounds a bit dodgy to me. Anyone had a similar offer and taken it up with no problems ?

If you cancel your current HD sub you have to give 31 days notice so if you dont want the two to overlap and pay twice you could work it out that you dont self install your new HD box till the day your previous HD sub due to cancel as you wont be charged for the new one till the box activated.Also id speak to upgrades again as the self install option im sure is only £30!
