snail and slug patrol

We used to have a songthrush in our garden in Cornwall, and they really are great for eating slugs & snails. A neighbour at the other end of the village was using slug pellets and said it was alright because he didn't have a thrush. I rather think he didn't have a thrush because of the slug pellets!
These days our chickens do a fantastic job of eating slugs and snails.
Anyway, I agree that the patrol is very effective if done regularly, but you do have to keep it up, and kill the blighters!0
