Best/Chespest Pay-As-You-Go Dialup Service?

May parents are needing a better/cheaper PAYG dialup internet service. They currently use the "Dentalserve" ISP, on a BT line. This ISP takes several minutes from dialing to conecting, it's not that great. Their internet use is fairly light.

https://www.flexi-surf.net do 60 hours per month for £5, I cannot say if they are any good.
https://www.fast4.net do unlimited for £6.99, again I have not tried it so cannot say if it's any good.
Just noticed you want PAYG see https://www.ispreview.co.uk for complete list of ISPs, I think they all use 0845 or 0844 which is local rate.0 -

get phone service from call18866
find an ISP with an ordinary (not 0845) geographic number
sign up for their payg account but use this other number instead
1p per call0 -

This idea had a thread of it's own ages ago.
It did work for a while until BT realised what was happening.
Now if you use the 18866 prefix on an isp number you just get an engaged tone. Unless you know of one that doesn't. ???Plenty of mistakes, but no regrets.0 -

https://www.aardvaak.co.uk) which is a very efficient PAYG using local call-rate.
There are threads already in existence covering this subject fully !"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

In 18866 FAQs they stateCan I access the internet via 18866?
No, unfortunately this is not possible. Internet providers offer dial up services using special access numbers which cannot be dialled using 18866.0 -
I already quoted that myself elsewhere ...0

I myself have got Flexi Surf and I can honestly say that I have never had any problems with them. I get connected every time and it seems to be as quick as anything else I have used. You dial a free phone number and pay just £5 for 60 hours. Great value. Email and web site too.
PS I don't work for them and by the way I was recommended them from this forum a while back.

Some months back, I read a thread listing geographical access numbers for a few ISPs. I'm trying to find one for EGG ISP. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks.0
