Item removed after purchase completed and delayed posting

I bought an auction item that finished yesterday, paid immediately and contacted the seller to ask them if it was OK to delay sending it as I may be away for a couple of weeks. The seller agreed to this. Is it possible that this could cause problems for either of us?

A few hours after the sale and exchange of messages I got a email from Ebay saying the listing had been removed for a breach of policy. The seller is still prepared to send it and I still want it. Again, are there any potential problems with going ahead with this?

    Hi,
I can't see any problems with this, especially if you have had good comms with the seller.
I sold a table last month, but the buyer wanted me to hold it for a month for them. They won the auction, paid me, and then collected the item this w/end. Provided you are clear to the seller when they can dispatch the item to you, I can't see any problems. You have 90 days to resolve any issues anyway. Ebay have lots of reasons for removing an item, such as wording they don't like.. you can't say 'like new', for example.

Depends why they removed it I guess, but if you feel confident that the item is what you think it is then it will probably be okay.

If you are paying for it via paypal then send it using the "goods" option.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

There are two aspects to this as I see.

Firstly, if the item has been removed by Ebay, is there a problem with what the item is?

Secondly, you will not have Ebay protection for this purchase, but you will have Paypal protection if you pay that way. However, you are only limited to 45 days, NOT 90, to raise a dispute with them.

Also, be aware that not all items are covered with Paypal, so if this item breaches Ebay policy, please ensure it is not an excluded item with Paypal.

Seller has said ebay removed the listing stating "copyright issues" if that helps.

If it's not too personal to state, perhaps if you give us an idea of what you've ordered it might help?
I know copies of 'Lost' a few years back were rife in ebay, and were being removed by ebay within hours of being listed, but it didn't stop people contacting the buyer and getting them out of auction. A friend of mine bought some DVD's of Lost this way, as she couldn't wait for the US series to come over to the UK months later.

No - not personal at all. It was a Tag watch so I imagine ebay may have pulled it in case it was a fake.

In that case I would be inclined to get your money back and buy from somewhere else. If it is a fake it is going to cause you endless problems getting authorised statements to that effect in order to get a refund.

I don't really want a refund. The price I paid was fair (IMO) for the goods and as both sides are agreeable to going ahead than that's what I hope to do. I'm really asking here if there are any dangers in this course of action and with delaying delivery as mentioned above.

You don't want a refund? Do you want a fake? Was the price you paid acceptable for a bonafide Tag or a fake?

If it is a fake (if you have any doubts) you should not be participating in the sale of such an item.

If you are knowingly buying a fake it is worth knowing that doing so is an offence in the UK.
