Been selling of a load of clothes and did the usual check before putting them on. Most are in excellen. Condition and so listed as such.
Just come to package one and noticed there was a mark, so had a quick wash of it to see if it came out. It didn't!!
not had this before so I assume I grovel to the buyer now? Obviously don't want to sell it as it's not as described!!

Give it to them/ offer to sell it to them for postage costs and write it off as a mistake.0

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago, was selling a silk dress and came to pack it up and noticed a pull i hadn't seen before. I contacted the seller and explained and apologised offering a full refund including postage and that I would send the dress for her as well if she wanted. She couldn't have been nicer, she said to keep the money, send the dress and she would see what she thought when it got there. When she received the dress she contacted me to say she loved and that no refund was necessary.0

Yep, mini grovel, apologise sincerely and explain exactly what happened. You can't really do more than that, then wait to see what they say.0

O.k grovelling message sent.. heres hoping!!
Thinking now what is best...
Do I wait until she replies and then do a mutual? Or do I send a mutual now?
Never had this before!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Wait until she replies. She may say she would want it!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0

Send grovelling message and offer reduced price (or perhaps even just cost of postage)?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
As above. Grovelling message, photo to back up if you really want to. Offer her to have refund or to have the item and inspect and if she is happy you will refund £x. I don't know the value of the item, but you may also say that if she doesn't want to keep it you will pay returns postage.0

I had this problem

I just emailed the customer, explained what had happened and sent photographs, and offered them the top at 50p + postage or mutual cancellation
Customer agreed to have the top and I've had positive feedback along the lines of "Honest ebayer"

Still no reply!
Hoping she's not a 'doesnt check until she's worried where the parcel is' kind of ebayer. LolGreen and White Barmy Army!0 -
I had a similar problem, too, where some beading was missing from a skirt which I hadn't noticed before listing. After emailing the buyer to explain, I offered either a refund or a half-price discount. She accepted the discount and was delighted with the skirt, giving me excellent feedback.
I think decent buyers are absolutely fine if you're honest with them about things like this. Fingers crossed that yours works out okay.0
