Moving house - what to do about Virgin contract?

We are moving house over the summer hols.
We currently rent, we have been in this house for what will be 7mths when we leave. We moved our Virgin package over from our last property so have started a new 12mth contract here.
The thing is, we are having to move out and stay with either mine or my husbands parents for a while. Neither of these properties are in a cabled area and they both already have their own BT/TalkTalk packages so wouldn't want us setting anything up there, especially if it is for (hopefully) a short period.
My question is,
Will they charge us for the remaining months on our contract even though we are not getting the services? In which case is there any chance of downgrading the package? What is the cheapest Virgin tariff available currently?
Or will we have to pay a termination-type fee? Any ideas on price for approx 5mths?
Or will they let us off as we are moving and we are not able to receive their service?
Many thanks for any advice.

If you are moving to a non-cable area then yes you will be charged a termination fee, normally the balance owing on the contract. If you were just on phone and broadband they would offer to transfer you to Virgin National service (ADSL), but obviously this cannot be done for the TV services which come by cable.
It's your choice to move to a non-cable area, VM is not a national service.
If you do move your service, it starts you on a new contract of course. No free lunch, and no free laptop
