I am with NTL freedom phone n dialup for more more than 2 years now.
My services are delivered via a BT line.
PROBLEM:
I have recently moved to a new house and I have activated my NTL freedom line also on my BT line but the problem is that I cannot connect to internet.
Whenever I dial the dialup number it gives a busy tone.
TELEPHONIC CONVERSATION WITH NTL FREEDOM
I called up NTL FREEDOM and they told me that there is some problem with the exchange (Clapham south area in London). NTL are not sure how long is it going to take to resolve it since it is the BT who have to do it (Thats what the Cust SErvices told me)
He said that I can ask for the refund and cancel only if my services remain disrupted for 28 days
Solutions he gave me:
Join NTL broadband and they will change my account to broadband immediately if I want(no need to wait 28 days)
I am a bit perplexed what to do:
I am happy with my current package as I am paying £15 a month for dialup and phone line and it gives me £15 of inclusive calls to any number.
So should I wait for them to fix the problem. It has already been 10 days and I am not sure how long would they take (they them selves are not!!) I have taken up the AOL 1 month free trial which ends on 24th Sept
or should I just move to NTL cable for phone n broad band n dump the BT
Or should I wait for 28 days and if they cannot sort it out, cancel with NTL freedom and get another broadband provider on BT line
Sorry about the long mail and all the ramblings but I am really very confused and turning on my MSErs for your valued opinion.
Many thanks
