I wouldn't have McAfee Internet Security if they paid me £53.89 per annum !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. McAfee is awful, I must agree.
I think the best out there (although you could argue until the cows come home..no doubt someone'll be along soon to do just that) is Eset's NOD32. My opinion thoughSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
McAfee and Nortan Anti-Virus are probbally THE most crappist, overhyped AV's out there today. And they are only where they are for forcing people to have it when they purchase PC's from PC World and Dell etc etc.
The two BEST (even better then McAfee and Nortan) AV's I have come across are AVG and Avast! They are both free, and probbally better then paid ones, they also use a lot less resources then MC and Nortan. Of course, if you like the free versions (note, they are not trails, they are simply... Free) then you could also upgrade to the "pro" version which is only like $10 a year or something like that. I'm sure everyone else here would agree with me.0 -
Keep the McAfee AV for this year because you've already paid for it
Personally, wouldn't take the risk, recently saw a McAfee protected laptop with 100's of infections.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

If you want to use mcafee's security suite- rated at number 7 I would purchase a license from ebay:

Used these a couple of times ,just use license key and will update to latest version.0 -
