I wouldn't have McAfee Internet Security if they paid me £53.89 per annum !

McAfee is awful, I must agree.

I think the best out there (although you could argue until the cows come home..no doubt someone'll be along soon to do just that) is Eset's NOD32. My opinion though

McAfee and Nortan Anti-Virus are probbally THE most crappist, overhyped AV's out there today. And they are only where they are for forcing people to have it when they purchase PC's from PC World and Dell etc etc.

The two BEST (even better then McAfee and Nortan) AV's I have come across are AVG and Avast! They are both free, and probbally better then paid ones, they also use a lot less resources then MC and Nortan. Of course, if you like the free versions (note, they are not trails, they are simply... Free) then you could also upgrade to the "pro" version which is only like $10 a year or something like that. I'm sure everyone else here would agree with me.

Keep the McAfee AV for this year because you've already paid for it

Personally, wouldn't take the risk, recently saw a McAfee protected laptop with 100's of infections.
    Move along, nothing to see.

You sure are wrong. :) You won't find too many people recommending AVG here.

Check the reviews here-carried out by av-test.org:

If you want to use mcafee's security suite- rated at number 7 I would purchase a license from ebay:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/McAfee-Internet-Security-2010-Anti-Virus-Released-2009-/110469957725?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Computing_Software_Software_SR&hash=item19b885c85d

Used these a couple of times ,just use license key and will update to latest version.

    Very important.

AVG since 7.5 (?) has become an ineffectual, bloated resource hog. 'nuff said.
    Move along, nothing to see.
