I was just looking at the news and came across this.

Fair play to her for taking such drastic action to make a point but surely this is taking things way to far.

Surely now her new name doesn't match her passport eitherIf At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

I don't see how she was making a point at all. It was her mistake entirely - it's common sense that she has to have the same name on her passport and ticket. And she had a silly name originally so it wasn't that much of a change.3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000

Pretty stupid woman, imho.I think my fiance thinks I'm crazy. The amusing thing is my fiance will have to say my new name during the wedding ceremony."

Were I her new Hubby, I would want a divorce pretty fast, I wonder if he bears any regrets, I dread to think what she would call herself if they DID divorce.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Hasn't it already been in the rules for years that any ticket must be in the same name as the person's photographic ID (passport, driving licence, whatever)?
I also think she's being stupid - the rules on booking and ID names matching have been there for as long as I can remember anyway.0 -

I think her complaint was that she'd have to pay a fee to change her details. Changing a name should take a telephone operator a few seconds to do but it sounds like Thomas Cook saw an opportunity to force their customers to choose between paying an extortionate fee or forfeit their holiday.
She probably took it a bit too far though0 -
I thought it if you were married all you had to do was bring your wedding certificate along anyway? maybe I'm wrong :S0
