Hi guys, yes Im still around. Just sent moneylover a pm.
Guys, well worth the money - after a year I cant see much difference to when I first had it done. The Clinic rang me recently to offer a discount on treatment but as I said to them, I dont actually need it yet. The two lines going up from either side of my nose which made me looked annoyed all the time - were very deep but are so faint still you cant hardly see them. The dot cotton lips havent returned as yet, even when I whistle the lines are further apart than they were before I had it all done. Lines from nose to mouth still faint.
Well worth every penny and the bit of discomfort - I shall certainly have it done again. The one thing I did notice, as I mentioned before, my face is assymetrical ?? anyway so when I returned for the check up after two weeks, the nurse added some more on one side. I have noticed that there are two very slightly raised areas on that side of my upper lip where she added extra but to be honest, rather have a very slight raised area that deep lines
Good luck to you both.
moneylover, Skin will want a doctor/dentist to do the first treatment, to ensure its all ok for you - after that you can have a registered nurse do it. I wouldnt go to a "beauty salon" for this sort of clinical treatment. My own private dentist can now do botox and fillers but he said to me he isnt particular keen on it and he has to charge a lot more than a specialist clinic as they can buy the filler/botox in bulk.0 -
Ive just rung to book a consultation for some skin treatments - they are offering 25% off at moment. BTW, if I recommend you I get £50 off my next treatment sand you get £25 off
pm if you want to do this.

Well, Im suckered in - went for a check out and quote and decided to have the dot cottons refilled and the nose to mouth and the lines going down from mouth. They also suggested having some more volume in the cheek area as you tend to get a sort of line the far side of each cheek when you smile as you get older and the cheeks flatten out. All done at the same time. Day 2 and a small bit of bruising on middle of upper lip and on one bit of the nose to mouth line.
Had a different doctor this time and he said that the previous guy should have put some support round my lip line to make them more defined - which he then did. I am a bit scared again as I have the upper "duck" lip and am pretty swollen again. Not as bad as yesterday though. And swelling is sposed to peak on day 2  I cant see any lines at all in upper lip, they were still there but very faint when I had it done last time.
Fingers crossed it all settles in the next week0 -
Hethmar, thanks again for pm you sent me a couple of weeks ago and thanks for updating us now on the forum
I know you said that you were not really ready to have the lines done again yet, did SK:N persuade you that it was better to just keep up with it? I guess with a 25% saving it was worth it. You added in the cheeks this time I think? How much did it cost altogether and can you notice the difference much given that you didnt think it needed doing yet?
As a matter of interest which clinic do you go to - we have one in Chelmsford where I live so it could be same doc if he comes from London.
Hope you continue to be reallypleased with it all. I am 64 and definitely a candidate, I would say its only in the last few years I have felt I needed some fillers, I am lucky enough to have amazing skin and I dont have many little wrinkles but the frown lines, nose to mouth etc are quite bad and def need cheeks done. SKN doesnt seem too badly priced.
One more questin - nurse is cheaper but you have doc first time is that right? Last time you could have waited for doc to have another look after a month - would that have cost more?0 -
Thank you moneylover and hethmar, I am very close to having filler done so this has been interesting for me, please keep us updated:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I thought my face was ok after a year but when you look at the photos and in the mirror at the clinic  I realised that the lines above my mouth were just starting to reform and that my nose to mouth lines were more noticeable. I decided, sod it, Im here now, getting 25% off so I may as well go for it now than wish I had done a few months down the line. The nurse certainly didnt try to pressure me at all and said my skin looked about 10 years younger than my age when I asked her what other treatments I should look at.
Im feeling the same as I did first time round again, wondering if it will all settle and look normalYou get this sort of area above your upper lip that looks like a duck and when you first try to smile it looks like a cats mouth, if you know what I mean?
I can actually feel it loosening up today - the doc told me to use gel packs and I should have done that the first day but forgot but I used them last night and once today to cool the area for 10 minutes.
Last time I went back after 2 weeks and the nurse checked out the results and added a bit more. You dont pay anything for the check up whether its a doctor or the nurse. Last guy was based central london and did several Skin clinics. This time the chap was from Brighton and does Brighton clinic and two london clinics for skin plus my one. I did like the way he said at my age I should have had the lip line defined more and hopefully that will look good when it all settles. At mo, past the rio ferdindand stage and more the Angelina Jolie stage, pmsl. Havent been to the shops for 2 days. I seem to remember it was about a week before I ventured to the shops last time.
Money lover, the lot came to £750 (or £350 if you were my husband) but they have now given me £50 in my account with them to spend against any further treatments plus 10% off anything I have done and a freebie deep exfoliation (peel) when this has all settled.

I think that was brilliant value for money! I think I might get an assessment next time I go for my hair removal - that has been very good.
I hope you get a referral from someone as that will be a bit more money towards next year. I would have helped you out but as already gooing to SK:N no good to you
You didnt say which clinic you go to as a matter of interest (in case I was to bump into you - but of course I will know who you are becuase you look ten years younger!!!!
I love the comment about your husband - mine would have a fit if he knew what my hair cut costs (he goes to a barber for a fiver!)0 -
I guess I could have done without the cheeks, they werent essential to be honest but they were thrown in for a couple of hundred and I thought it may lift my jowly bit if I had them. OH keeps telling me I could have achieved same results eating a few dozen bars of chocolate -
but as I say it will take a week at least to settle now. I always feel terribly guilty when I spend money on myself - Ive only done it last few years when I thought to myself, the best is already past, why not. But I do think about all the poverty in the world and feel awful about spending the money
Re skin looking 10 years younger - its genetic rather than effort - but I always make it clear to them that Im an OAP and spending my pension money so that Im not pressured into too much expense but as I said, they really dont pressure you at all.0 -
So day 4 and the duck lip is now looking much more normal (but no vertical lines at all, not even fine ones:)) - I actually noticed today that he had "refined" (I remembered he said that too after I noticed) one side of my chin which had a bit of a jowl hanging. It looks much better, though if I stare at that side in the mirror - like you do - the jowly bit is sort of rounded now and below the jaw bone but hey, no one is going to be staring under my jaw I dont spose
Certainly improvement on the little jowly bit hanging there.
So, after being scared again, everything is coming round and settling and so far, so very good - better actually than the last time as this doctor also put some round the edge of my lip line to define the lips too and wow, they look really quite full now - even though he didnt put any in the lips themselves, the edges seem to lift the actual lips out more.
Two small bruises but Ive finally dug out some arnica tablets that I used last time (when I had much more bruising) so hopefully they will be gone within a few more days.0 -
so pleased for you, all wonderful - bet you dont normally spend so much time looking in the mirror!0
