Santander Zero application...how long usually?

Santander declined my Zero card application 3-4 weeks after my application. I checked my credit records with Experian and Equifax - no problems found, both excellent. However, there was no sign of any searches by Santander, so they refused my application without ever checking my credit records. I appealed against their decision, and then I noticed they did a search few days after receiving my letter. Still waiting for the outcome.
Santander also refused my application, and I've just signed up with Experian recently and noticed that they never made a search on me as well. Maybe they've been overwhelmed with applications??0 -

Update: After my appeal, my appliction was reactivated, then got lost in the system:mad: After numerous calls to different departments, I made an official complaint to Santander. I finally got accepted and received the Zero card 10 days ago, this is 2 months after my original application, then decline, appeal and complaint.
It turns out that they just refuse applications without looking into credit records, bunch of incompetents are not interested in getting new customers.
I got fed up with Santander, but needed a card for 0% BT, so I am stuck with it for a year. I only got half the credit limit I needed, will try to get it increased, so I guess there will be another round with their underwriting dept.
Also, I saw the threads on this forum about how bad their online cc access is.0 -
:mad: Thought we would apply for a zero card as a back-up for our forthcoming holiday. We have a good credit rating have lived at the same address for 40yrs and we both work. Along with the application form we also had to have our passports copied ! Then they wanted copies of my husbands payslips, but they did nt ring us and ask for them they went through to my husbands employers first !! At this point I was 'spitting feathers' and after a few selective comments withdrew our application. Beware apply only if you re desperate0

Just a further word of warning, I have a zero card that has just finished its 0% period so I paid it off, rang them up and find they are offering me a 9 months 0% offer but have not told me in any way (surely an email is no bother if they want to make the offer).
Anyway happy to have it but when I tried to do the transfer was told that I cannot transfer the balance from my partners card, this is a change from previously as I have never had any trouble transfering a balance from my partners card previously.
Having read all about the poor customer service I am wondering if this is even correct as not sure it should make any difference to them where the balance comes from.0
