That is based on venue being in the country side with lovely grounds for photos ect.
    Civil cermoney
    70 day guests
30 extra for evening. so total 100 for evening.

The venue hire, wedding breakfast, drinks reception and evening buffet itself come to £5000.

As I said, I'm getting almost all of that for a shade under £5.5k, add my dress & alterations in & it will be approx £5.8k.

So would I pay £4k+ for a planner? No. It hasn't been that demanding, we haven't particularly stressed about any part of it (yet), and my time is a lot cheaper than that - even if I charge my employer's hourly rate for me.

Also, don't forget that a lot of 4* hotel chains such as De Vere & Barcelo have well-priced packages - mine is a Barcelo - which include most things on your list, and the majority of brides would not necessarily find their perfect dress within a set price range, while your £10k cost could be blown out of the water by a bride deciding on a dress that costs £1-2k.

Venue itself with food and drink is £5000 to give you more of any idea. its not a hotel chain its a big house in countryside.
I agree with what you say regarding dress, what i have done is set a budget of £750 for dree which bride will choose herself, she is more than welcome to spend more of this if she choose however this would take her over budget so if she wants to keep to budget she would have £750 to spend on a dress which i think is an resenable amount? But this is why i have stated starting price of £10,000
thanks for your time to post:money:

We are getting everything we want (including the hire of a ferrari!) for just under 5k.

The package idea is a good one for some people, but its still way too expensive for someone like me (and most of the people on here!).

I also enjoy the fun of searching for stuff online and in shops, so to have someone else do it for me would not be good as i would worry a lot! lol. And also, i love a bargain and enjoy finding bargains!

I think had I seen what you are offering but for 5k i may have seriously considered it, despite my love of doing everyhting myself... but 10k is just too much.

Thanks for your post gives me a more idea what people are willing to spend :money:

I think you have a great idea (although for most of us MSE brides it's a little out of our price range).

As 'average' prices (for my kind of budget and taking into account your numbers etc) I'll give you a run down!

Venue, wedding breakfast, reception drinks, evening buffet, £3,500
    bride's dress, £500
    bridesmaids dress(es), £600
    suit hire, £500
    flowers, £200
    venue decoration, £200
    evening entertainment, £150
wedding cake, PAID FOR US £500
    photographer, Thankfully free
    stationery £150

and a full wedding planning service throughout including the wedding day - Unfortunately I'm running aroung like a headless chicken :D

So that total for those numbers is £5,800 (I'm not including the cake however as I'm not payibng for it and then also add normal photographers fees, normal stationary fees (as we're doing our own) also doing our own flowers etc etc). Those kind of extras etc will all tot up to at least £7000 and then wedding planner on top etc. I think you may need to throw in something else (a car maybe?). But a lot of ppl who don't have strict budgets would like the stress taken out be someone like you doing a full package deal.
    Hope this helps!

Could be, a lot of hotels etc are doing very cheap deals at the moment (mine is). Just check it out, what deals etc are happening in your area. It might be worth noting that us 'MSE-ers' are mostly getting married on Sundays/weekdays etc, not Saturdays as they are more expensive. A lot of package deals aren't for Saturdays, I assume yours would be?
