Another suggestion - enter setup when starting PC you have to press F1 or F8 or whatever flashes up in black and white just after PC is switched on - check the boot order - either hard disk, floppy or CD or other - this is order that computer looks for operating system - useful if you boot from CD but normally boot is done from hard drive - ensure that hard drive is set as primary boot.
Hope this helps??0 -

Have you run chkdsk d: /F/R and done a defrag, just to rule out any physical/logical problems.
How does a safe mode boot compare?
There is one big difference between the 2, one has windows on C:, and one has it on.. can you explain, how/why is the o/s on d:? What is on C:?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Have run chkdsk and defrag on both drives for 'other' machine (although both machines are only a couple of weeks old), no physical/logical probs.
Not tried a safe mode boot tho', may check that tomorrow (today).
