The self-service tills in B&Q far outweigh supermarket ones as far as irritation factor. A B&Q local to me was testing out these tills and for a whole day directed everyone to use them. The problem is that many things in B&Q are loose. For instance we'd bought 3 metres of rope and the self-service till insisted that it needed to know the diameter of the rope which we'd not noted as we bought it on the 'looks about the right size' principle.

I have to admit that apart from the odd small glitch I don't have any problems that any of the self-service tills in supermarkets. I love them. There's just no way I could afford to queue for a normal till in my local Sainsburys during my lunch hour so I love the self-service tills.
