Sainsburys Self service tills- A pleasant experience!

Options
Our Sainsburys have just updated their tills and put in 4 new self service tills:j
I thought I'd give it a go, I'd previously used Tesco's ones but got fed up of "unexpected item!" being yelled at me and having to call the assistant numerous times. Also morissons which told me to pack every single item, grrr!
Anyway the Sainsbury's one was very well behaved, It hardly spoke!! Just let me get on with scanning and packing without saying a word:D
Super efficient and non stressful! Well done Sainsburys :T
:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly :D

I had the opposite experience last week, the operator had to come over three times and we only had 9/10 items, never have a problem with the tesco ones

These tills are the Devils Spawn !

If everybody refused to use them then stores would have to employ more staff, this would probably cost them no more as these tills and their maintenance will not be cheap .

  • I'm hoping our local Sainsbury's will install the self service tills soon :-)
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

Just had them installed in my local Sainsbury store. No better nor no worse then any other supermarket self-service till.

Love these self service tills - they accept any voucher - but beware the assistant lurking nearby to catch you out!!

Check they knock off all the 'buy two for £x.xx' offers, ours doesn't always
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

The only problem I have with the Sainsburys self serve, is the coin return tray, ours have a spiky triangular bit of metal that pokes down into the tray, and I'm forever stabbing my hand on it!
    Bloody hurts too! lol

Complain (everytime) via Customer Services. And insist that they log it into the accident book. That way, they will soon get sick of it, and ensure it is changed.

Additionally, if you wounded yourself due to it, and the wound became infected you would have no come back on Sainsburys if it had not been offically logged.
