made this call to a mate of mine in the evening and ran over the '60min' threshold by '17mins' and it has charged me £1.070 is this correct, over £1 for 17mins in the evening?
here is the call on the bill
Wed 28 Apr 10 -20:34-0161280****-Manchester-1:17:20-£1.070
Now surly bt dont charged you for the whole call after the 60mins,and only charge for the min you go over

From what I can see they have only charged you for the 17 minutes. Their standard call rate seems to be 5.9p per minute and that works out within a couple of pence to the price you were charged. If they had charged you for the full hour the price would have been nearly £5 according to their tariff page.

Yes, that's the charge for 18 minutes at 5.9p/minute (so they have only charged you for the minutes by which you exceeded the inclusive calls element of your plan).
Don't forget, Martin's recommends using 18185 for non-inclusive (the whole call would have cost you 5p if you had've done).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
All you have to do is terminate the call and redial before the hour is up...No free lunch, and no free laptop0

thanks guys, just thought it was a little expansive, had no idea it was 5.9p if i went over,i knew i had to hang up and i do 99% of the time but these 2 ran over..
18185 is looking very promising, how expensive is BT getting!
