really need some help with a plasma

Hi, Im not sure where to post this. We are desperate for some advice! My father has a Panasonic plasma, its about 7 years old the model number is th-42pwd4 he has never ever had any problems with it but a couple of days ago the screen resolution changed from 16.4 ( i think) to 4.3 its alot smaller with two black bars…
