Left with a broken Dyson

I bought a reconditioned dyson animal from an ebay shop but after a month it wasn't working so they sent a new one. It arrived end Feb.
The newer one isnt working either- its making a noise, and smells like the motor is burning. Now I know its second-hand but I expected it to last longer than 3 months.
The trouble is I cant email them as Ebay wont let me and the seller seems to have gone....been search and searching but nothing.
I bought it reconditioned as I couldnt afford a new one and now I am left with a broken one and £90 out of pocket
Bummer

Fraid so.
You could try writing to the company, perhaps they have just left Ebay but are still trading? Worth a stamp?0 -
As a last resort you could get dyson to fix it? Might not be too expensive...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Dysons are rubbish - my local tip has a bin for electrical items and its always full of old (and not so old ) Dysons.0

Have you found the transaction in paypal. You will then have an email address for them.0

worse case you can get a motor off ebay for £18 and fit it yourself , just recently done mineEx forum ambassador

I have had a couple of Dyson over past 15 years, I dont agree they are rubbish. Maybe they are so many is because they are very popular
Agree contact Dyson I think they can do a full repair for around £60 or take it to local repair shopTheJollyClamper wrote: »Dysons are rubbish - my local tip has a bin for electrical items and its always full of old (and not so old ) Dysons.0 -
Agreed, we have a DC25 Animal but it is too much for us so were selling and down sizing to a compact one.
They certainly get my vote.0 -

I know when mine smells of burning and is making an awful noise it is usually the belt. I picked up a couple of belts of ebay and it was very easy to fix.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -

The belt on my dyson goes about once every 6 months, what a nightmare, it usually takes me the best part of an hour to change it, you need the strength of a bear to wrestle with them things. The next time I need to buy a vacuum cleaner I'm gonna make sure it's one that doesn't need a belt."I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." :huh:0 -
I had a dc14 animal and it lasted 5 years only reason I got rid was it needed new parts as it was getting brittle the plastic and worn and I got a good deal on a small dyson with the ball
I never once had to change the belt, on dyson 14 needed a new motor in year 2-3 and it was replaced free of charge from Dyson. It was overheating and cutting out0
