Microsoft Office Product Key Is Incorrect

Right, this is really getting on my baps!

Purchased a Sony Vaio laptop from Curry's in January. Have not used the Office or Word until now. Stupid thing about putting my product key kept coming up which I kept skipping. Now I am only allowed to look at Word and Excel stuff, I cannot change it or use it.

Just located the product key at the bottom of the laptop and hey presto, it's not the correct product key. Have got various family members to check and input it and it still won't work!

What am I supposed to do now? Errrr!

The product key is probably for windows, not office, which will be a trial. So, you either have to buy it, or use openoffice

Surely the product key stuck at the bottom of your laptop is the Windows product key, not the Office product key, which will be with your Office CD or packaging?

Are you sure you purchased a bundled coffee - not just a "Free demo included"?

OMG! I'm confused now. The laptop was in a box and there was no Office CD in it.

Sorry, I don't understand computers etc at all.

You haven't bought office, it's a trial, the trial period has run out.

    Windows is the Operating System
Office is a package to edit documents, spreadsheets and such.

They are completely different but they are just both made by Microsoft.

With a computer you will get the Operating System usually, however, most of the time, you won't have Office on there. They may have put a trial period on for you.

As above, download OpenOffice. It's a free version.
