  • I think I shall take it easy next year and only do [STRIKE]one[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]two[/STRIKE] three or so courses. I have technically only got this coming year to complete at full time rates (as I already have 120 pts at level 2), but I think I might stretch it out a bit and take 2 years before collecting the Hons, persuading them to accept my level 2 environment course in place of the level 1 compulsory. Otherwise I could end up doing the exact same courses at postgrad prices

That way, I do Env. Science and Fieldwork from Feb, and have plenty of time to get ready for the level 3 modules, including the project for the last course.

Am sort of cleaning so that bed is nice and fresh and place looks kind of welcoming when I come back tomorrow night - I'm off on a Day School tomorrow, but I'm travelling up and staying in a hotel tonight as I can't be doing with standing on train platforms at 7am all my life. It shall be a little bit of luxury!

The place stinks of bleach and the cat is going loopy with the smell. But at least they shall have clean bowls.

Just have to hope KH2 turns up on time so that I can [STRIKE]find a pub[/STRIKE] get my bearings when I arrive at my destination.

Here's to being an eternal student!!!!

Friday- those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms
    Level One
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
All OK; it may be crowded in there, but that's because we've got our suitcases down from the loft, and gradually packing them.
Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself!!!!! paint your nails, make an appointment to have your hair done, a lovely soak in the bath.. whatever you feel like!! I'm having my nails done this morning as usual

Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!!
    N/A
    Level Three
    Clean 2 windows
Done – well, the glass in the front & back doors, any way.
Sort through a cupboard/chest of drawers and get the clothes out which are no longer wearable, too small or out of season!
    All been done!
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
    Done
    Extras

    1. Wash a set of curtains, nets, duvet or throw None need doing right now.
    2. Wipe the radiators, skirtings and window & door frames! Done what I can reach
    3. Sort through one box or toys.. if you have no children find a box of junk.. is there anything that needs to go? All done – RSPCA box is ongoing.
    4. End of week fling!! grab a binbag and fill it with stuff to leave the house.. rubbish or charity shop or to donate to a friend! See extra #3; recycling all put in shed, rubbish all in main bin.
Only a week now til our holiday; I reckon it'll do Mr LW the world of good to be away from work for a bit. He's just finished a week of being on-call 24hrs a day.

Afternoon to the loveliest bunch of braindead, doormat, bimbos i've ever met.;)

I haven't done any flying as i went for my fitness assesment this morning:eek: it was very scary but i've signed up for 4 months starting Monday. There's a diet plan to follow too so it should be good.

Then i went to Tesco and for lunch with my Sisters. We may be going away tonight if we can pick the keys up for the chalet. We will still have to go to the meeting though.

So i'd better shift myself and make a list all by my own self.:D

    Hi all,

LO had an inset day today, so I took a days holiday. Hes outside playing football with his little friends, so I have managed to do the following:

    - Empty little cupboard in kitchen which previously housed dog paraphenalia
    - Packed dog stuff into box for mum to take back to scotland with her next week
    - Moved glasses and mugs into little cupboard (after cleaning it of course)
    - Emptied dishes cupboard and cleaned it
    - packed appliances from dining room cupboard into the back of the kitchen cupboard
    - sorted out the dishes and put back whats being kept
    - sorted tupperware and lids and put everything back in the cupboard neatly and easily accessible this time!
    - Filled a bin bag in the process
    - moved empty cupboard out of dining room
    - cleaned all skirtings, fluffy radiators floors and the likes, then built bookcase and desk in DR
    - Sorted out some of the pile of filing, shredded till it was full then emptied shredder
    - moved box files etc for paperwork into bookcase
    - Moved shoe rack - took half the shoes upstairs
    - Took down curtain pole in spare room
    - emptied wardrobe
    - Put up new curtain pole

Im sure theres more, but maybe not - maybe it just feels like it!!!! :rotfl:

Off to sit down for 5 minutes.

Question for the gardening experts... CBA to go over to the gardening board :D

I've dug lots of topsoil into my clay soil where I've made new flowerbeds, but it's still very sticky. I want to start planting, but should I dig in compost as well, and possibly some sharp sand? Because once there are plants in there it's going to be a lot more hassle...

Off to plant something in a pot in the meantime...

    1. What are you planting? Does it mind clay

    2. I find whatever I dig in helps but the stuff often disappears (Hex calls this hungry soil)

    3. do you have stones in the soil to help with drainage - mine is clay in belts but stoney with it?

    4. you could add sharp sand but I find this unsuccessful; fine gravel or even pea shingle if you need drainage.

    5. compost always helps, leaf mould is good for improving texture without adding nutrients (not always wanted) as is the good old stuff you make yourself. Manure if you can get some from stables also really breaks the soil up but it needs to be aged.
