    My DH works in industry, and is involved in a partnership with a top university, helping them select students for science courses. I can assure you that for some courses, your GCSE results are very much taken into account when selecting A-level students for interview.

    Well that must be the only one then, or they are totally nit-picking when it comes to the last few places, because not one person I know or have ever known has been asked for GCSE results once past A-level.. mainly because it is only relevant qualifications they are interested in.. If they are interested in doing science based courses at uni the chances are they will be interested inthat subject and have done the relevant A-levels so these take precedence over the GCSE results.. My sister wasn't even asked to provide proof of her qualifications when she stared work in a nursery... just the birth certificate for CRB checks.

    KH works in a very specialised field and it isn't relevant what their exam results were.. ability and willingness to learn is far more important. He has also studied for 2 degrees with 4 GCSE's and not 1 A-level.. when he started they never even asked what results he had got. they didn't ask what I'd got either..

    Nope, right from the off, for all the places. There are now so many people getting top grades at A-level, they need another way to distinguish the best.

    We're never going to agree on this, so I'll stop now, and encourage everyone taking exams to aim for the best results they can achieve hyper.gif

    I think I've discovered penicillin...:eek::rotfl: behind the loo...ughhhh **shudder**

    I done it...cleaned the most disgusting area of the house, behind the loo which is very dark and murky, but now clean and disinfected.

    I also hoovered the area in our bedroom that has also been bugging me the most.

    In addition I cleaned one end of the bath and ditched some more bathroom unnecessaries.

    Piggers, wednesday sounds good, I'll plonk it in my diary, feel rubbish at the mo so there'll be no star jumps :j but you can if you want...:rotfl:

    Lil-me.....helllllllloooooooooooooo, don't be a stranger for so long mrs....you were missed.:D

    Right best get my bum in gear, coffee then out.

    Please can someone shout at me to do my mileage, need reminding.:cool:
