If we can get back to the original thread.....
Yes, I have phoned several times. On each occasion there was 'no-one there authorised to do anything'. I was promised return calls from the manager (never there) but not called.
Yes, I have contacted the local EHO. The problem has been known since early April. He confirmed that a stop notice had been served on the hotel prohibiting the use of any water not previously boiled (hence the bottled water to wash in). He also confirmed that there was recurring norovirus. He admitted to having visited the hotel several times, but had problems trying to get the largely Eastern-European staff to understand what they had to do to try to deal with the problem. He explained that the water was drawn from the adjacent loch, but that the treatment plant was having problems.
Do I have a case to cancel my booking, and get my money back?0 -
I don't think you have a right to reclaim any deposit for something that might happen. One would hope that in two months' time, the problem would have been sorted anywaySquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
If your doctor can't confirm you have any condition that would be affected, and the EHO are happy to keep them open, you probably won't get any joy.
Which hotel is it?0
