Thanks for the replies. They have now replied saying they have been into the bank and they told her it was sent out on the 21st so should be with her any day now. I think I will give her until wednesday before I do anything else. Really she shouldn't have bid if she was unable to pay straight away or at least asked me if it would be ok before bidding.

Cheques can be a real pain, not only because of the waiting time. I was sent a cheque for the price of the item, but not the p&p. Fortunately my buyer was really good and sent me the rest of the cheque within a couple of days.

I know paypal is expensive and has numerous problems with it, but I do prefer to use it were possible.

If you accept cheques though you must factor in extra waiting times. If you prefer instant payment then you might want to consider paypal, or even immediate payment with paypal required on a BIN.

I offer PayPal as well and I do accept extra waiting times for cheques but it really shouldn't take this long. Even if they posted it second class it would arrive in 2-3 days and this has now been 7 working days since they won the auction. I have had buyers use cheques before and they haven't taken any longer than 5 days to arrive.
