Hi Ames, sorry I didn't make it at the weekend. I explained to Lady H on Saturday what I would be doing Sunday, and that I would not be up at 9.30 as usual but would call in at 1.30 to move rubbish, remove empty bottles, walk dogs. Take care of emergency items.
(did all this plus remove bath panel to check for none existent leak, designer hair shower left on over side of bath).

Anyway sorry, also sorry to hear about your friend. Its never easy to say the right words to someone when suffering a loss, only that you do understand and leave it at that.

While I'm on MIL got home this evening. Here mobility isn't good, but she's eating. 3 bowls of high cal soup in one go. She is still having problems with solids. Mrs H is relieved but I think she's going to burn herself out if not careful. Will keep you all posted, thanks for your kind messages and support.

    handy.

3Dogs, yep it's the Brian Clough one. Martin Sheen looks a bit different to how he does in Underworld!

Handy, it's fine about Sunday, it would have been great to meet you but I'm sure there'll be another chance.

Thanks for the messages about my friend, the Facebook page has about 700 ex pupils on it, it's amazing.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Really enjoyed that film (even as a non-football fan). Martin Sheen looked great in it and I thought he was pretty convincing as Clough

Years ago when I was working as Compere at a holiday camp near
Weston - Super - Mud. I had to visit the restaurant kitchens to borrow some material's for a gag. As I walked through the kitchen I saw the chef take out his false teeth and use them to make the decorative crimping round the top of an apple pie:eek::eek::eek:

I said to the manager, does he know that's unhygienic?

That's nothing said the manager, you want to see what he uses to make the holes in the doughnuts!!:eek:

I've just watched this weeks Top Gear, I actually have tears in my eyes from laughing so much.

The 3-storey mobile home was a classic, Ames, and as for the library:rotfl:

It was a good film, but it missed loads out from the book, and wasn't as three dimensional. But I nearly always hate adaptations of books I've loved!

ETA: I loved the idea of a shed on a land rover but then he opened it out...

I'm out of the shower now :D
Come on own up who was rattling the bathroom door handle. It would not have been a pretty sight.

Had a call from my Mums home today, apparently she thought she would cheer the old blokes up by doing a streak around the sitting room.
Buck naked and off she went.:eek::eek:

One old chap turned to his mate, Was that Daisy Handy he said, his chum said I think it was, waht was she wearing!
