When we watch tv through the Humax box, the speech is out of sync. The Sky box is off. This just started yesterday...

When we had problems with a Humax box (Not the same as your problem)

We unplugged it from the mains overnight and that cured it.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I thought there had been a Humax software download in the last few days, but I can't find details. However, if your model is one of these: Humax PVR-9200T / PVR-9200T/S / PVR-9200T/B / PVR-9200TBX there will be a software update on the 9th of June 2010. Perhaps this may resolve you issue? A google of 'Humax sync issues' throws up a few threads of various vintages mostly on the 9200. No really much useful info, so if it were mine I would speak with Humax directly. http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/

There's a big discussion on several Digtalspy threads. My Humax 9200T is affected by slow downs & hangs since about last Autumn with the Digital Switch-over starting, so I look forward to this software update. Must be "real soon now".

    [ edit ] just found it - officially 9th June 2010:

Letter asking for your money back, followed by County Court Summons if necessary? If I'm honest, if it could be technically fixed then they would have. My guess is the hardware is not man enough to run the software. It's quite an intense chain of processes going on, but many other makers have it licked, so I would say it's a manufacturing defect at a stretch and it's time for owners to make some noise.

Thing is the Humax is supposed to be the Rolls Royce of Freeview. The Sagem thing I have is *awful* {slow EPG and response}, I was close to going for a Humax - but thanks to this thread I'll stick with what I know.

Erm.. have you actually checked that you received the OTA update today? It will tell you when you switch it out of standby that there is an '23' version or summat.

My update did arrive today and so far performance has been good. Also it now saves the program guide and reloads it when you turn back on, this is new, previously you had to wait after turn-on for the whole guide to load.

    You surprised me Mr_Oink,

It's not manufacturing it's software, they are still the RR, their nearest real competitor [ Pana ] for twinies on quality & service costs 600 quid.

This issue is 6 weeks old and their engineers still haven't solved it.

"" hardware is not man enough to run the software "" I too thought it was the chipset GPU redundancy, but I've changed my mind on that one we will wait the outcome !
