Orange care for iphone, will they cover.....
I've just got a iphone 3gs (under 3 weeks old) and I've lost it!!! I took out orange care about 4 days ago and hopefully I'm covererd. The phone is lost in my flat somewhere, I just cant find it anywhere. Has anyone had any joy in claiming in these situations? I'm doubtfull as to what the following terms actually mean, do you think I will be ok to claim?
Your Phone will not be repaired or replaced where loss, damage or theft is caused by or consists of:
3.4. Loss of or Unauthorised Use of the Phone
any loss suffered as a result of not being able to use the Phone or any loss other than the Insured repair
or replacement cost of the Phone
3.10. Loss or theft from temporary premises
loss or theft of Your Phone from temporary premises is covered only where there is evidence of forcible
and violent entry or exit.
The temporary premises is worrying me what does it actually mean?

by the sounds of it work etc, the first sounds like the killer for you.
You tried the usual calling it, back tracking your actions etc?Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Being cynical here but how big is your flat that you can't just look for it? This is one of the reasons I leave my phone on so that when I do leave it somewhere I can just phone it!

I would agree, however as much as folk like to praise the iphone (sometimes unjustified) it is hard to deny the battery life is substandard compared to most other available handsets
, on a plus note if the handset is behind cushions , soft furnishings, then the ring signal will be very muted
A friend of mine had a 'flat' in worcestershire, the place was absolutely massive and bigger than some houses, the two cellars were bigger than a regular living room
But for the OP, if the handset is in your flat, it is neither lost or stolen, you don't want insurance fraud on your record, eventually the handset will be found if you back track your movements.0 -
I agree this is why I do not want to be hasty and jump on the claim band wagon. It is a large flat, I've back tracked and cant find it anywhere. The battery has run flat or I would ring it!
Do you think I will have a problem when I do try and claim?0 -

yes because it would be fraudulant as it hasnt been stolen or broken.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

I didnt say you were trying to claim it was, i was implying that those are the only two instances you WOULD be able to claim for. The first clause quite clearly states loss is not covered.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Thanks for the advise.0

The handset is not permanently lost, it has merely been temporarily misplaced - you even know the address of where it is!! Orange Care will not pay up for a handset that is in your own flat so you'd have to claim fraudulently on the insurance. Get caught and you will be blacklisted by a whole raft of financial instituations: !!!!!! have a massive clear out/ spring clean and find the thing.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Why had I not thought of that????!!!!!!0
