Thanks everyone, I shall get knitting.
I think I will just send the squares rather than stitching them together myself as the colours I happen to have don't look that good together (horribly clashing, rather than funkily clashing). The people at the charity will probably be better able to put them together with other peoples squares to make a more harmonious whole :D

Who knows though - I might find myself enjoying it so much that I'll be tempted to buy some better chosen colours and make up a blanket :)

The User Name is from a line in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I was a big Buffy Geek back in the day :D and had a crush on the character 'Spike', who the line refers to :o)

Off to check out the links you've all given me.....

What a pretty blanket Mrs MP, lovely colours!

I managed to put tails and ears on 2 piggies, started another hare and just recieved a parcel of lovely grey yarn off a friend, not sure what I will do with it yet. Started first baby blanket in granny squares, peach pink and white.

Lots of stitching done too, easter eggs and a bit of patchwork.

mioliere, glad to hear Sam is progressing as he should.

Still rather caught up in the frenzy of teaching myself to crochet. It has prompted a huge clear out and re-organisation of all my craft items, looking for crochet hooks which I knew I had somewhere. Found a complete set in a zipped case which were my aunt's. Had them decades but had forgotten them.

My dear MIL returned from a foreign holiday on Thursday and unfortunately is now in hospital having suffered a stroke. She is only 95! DH is away to visit. Can't settle so will reluctantly do housework I think!

Hope your mil is being taken good care of azzabazza and that it wasn't too serious and she makes a good recovery.

    Hugs to all
Busy day today with lots of family visits done, saw dad, then mum took her out for a pre Mother's Day meal, then saw my brother and my two gorgeous little nieces, can you believe Beau is two today!!! Nipped round mils on way back so pretty much covered everyone.

Mrs moneypenny - your blanket is fantastic - I got the wooligans link and saw what a great job you have done - you certainly got round everybody today.
I did some digging in that there poly tunnel then came in for a long shower and a glass of something cool am now up to get some yarn and a hook and go find a soft chair to sit in and do a bit of mindless crochet, then I might have something to add to this weeks update.
Lots of love and squishy cuddles to you all

    Hello to one and all.
I hope that all the people looking after poorly people are looking after themselves a little too!
And those bursting with excitement don't forget to BREATHE!

I really do send my love to everyone here.
We arrive home on Wednesday and the first thing I shall pick up is the job of assembling Sams blanket.
Thank you to the lovely people who have already sent their squares. If they have arrived whilst we have been away I shall look forward to opening the packets and matching them all up.

In case you are one of our lovely new followers or missed the idea here is what we are doing.kathy's Grandson Sam has been diagnosed with Leukaemia. Our good wishes, positive vibes and loving thoughts have helped Kathy I know.

We sometimes make VERY special blankets to bring comfort at difficult times. Most importantly the best news is Sam is doing really well but it is going to be a long haul for him. Maybe he might love a blanket in his favourite football colours or maybe he might want to donate it to the hospital where he is being treated.

If you would like to join in please knit a 6 inch square( or as many as you like ) and private message for my address . Then the fun will begin putting the blanket together.PLEASE NOTE THE SQUARES MUST BE 6 inches square or else it is really hard to fit them together.

Sam's favourite football team is Chelsea so squares in the football colours of the Chelsea blue and white would be wonderful.

If anybody has any queries please pop a message on here and I will get back to you.
    Thank you xxxxx
