Thank you, again, everyone. No further news beyond the fact that his treatment is underway, and we have started the initial five-week countdown. Being told that this is the toughest stage of all is very reassuring. It may sound like a long time, but it is ONLY five weeks, and we are all focusing on that, and will face the next stage when it comes. I've been told about two online communities that I have joined - I think it will help a lot to be in contact with others who have either experienced this illness, or have precious loved ones going through it. There are two types of leukaemia that affect young people - AML (acute myeloid leukaemia) and ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia) - Sam has ALL, for which the survival rate is very good.

Once again, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Hello one and all and lots and lots of love tucked in at this time.
Kathybeen thinking about you all today and sending the gentlest hugs to you all. A new week begins tomorrow and that's one more day on Sam's road to recovery . Your poor family giving to go through all thus but how lucky they are part of such a loving supportive family. That will help them so much xxxx

If anyone fancies having a go at a Chevron blanket the last two posts on my blog are tutorials about them. I have a bit/ big bit of an obsession going on here at the moment !!!

    Good morning everybody.
Kathy new week, new day and one day nearer to bring cured and that terrible black cloud going away. I had already decided to go " dry " for January and when I give the donation to Cancer Research at the end if the month I shall be even happier knowing it is supporting the wonderful work helping lovely people like Sam and your family.

I am ripping out the Chevron blanket I am working on at the moment. Why don't I stop the minute I don't like a stripe. It only gets worse no natter how I try and convince myself it's fine.

mrs Moneypennythat is so exciting. I bet it will be lovely.

Lots of love dear chums x x x

Thank you, Chalky; that means such a lot.

Thanks to you all for your continuing kind words and thoughts. I can't really concentrate on much but, after a lot of searching, I have found a pattern for a tiny teddy that I want to make; I will make one for Sam to watch over him, and one for his sister.

My own sister, who you will remember lost her dear husband in 2012 has been giving me so much advice, information, and encouraging support. I was dreading telling her about Sam because her pain is still raw, but she has been amazing. Although my dear BIL could not be saved in the end, every effort was made to help him, and my sister will always be grateful to the NHS for that.

mioliere Know you and Sam are being thought of all the time. This next five weeks are only to be got through. We are all there with you. The teddies seem like a good idea. They will all know you have been thinking of them and knitting love into every stitch.

Don't know if anyone is doing an update but last week I made 8 premi jackets and 6 premi hats.

I need some more yarn now.
