    I've got £0.19!

Just got the new MBNA cashback card...hopefully might get a bit more on that one. Was very disappointed with the Barclaycard rewards. Oh well.

Agreed! used to be good, the new Freedom crap is unfathomable.

As soon as I get 15 mins free I am switching to the Capital One 1% card. £8 annual fee and only pays rewards once a year but small loss compared to Barclaycard now.

Biggest pain is going to be digging out everything that is registered to bill against 'old' card and switching it to a new card.

Anyone know if the Capital One World mastercard has the facility to set up an automatic payment in full each month? (I know credit card companies hate this!)

    Cheers.

Same as no1catman I had a Leeds BS card with 1% cashback then taken over by Morgan Stanley, then Goldfish and now Barclays. Couldn't find anywhere suitable to spend freedom points so I used my egg card (then Barclaycard took that over!) so I've moved to Halifax Clarity and Tesco credit cards.

I had the Morgan Stanley it was great, brilliant customer service. Then Barclaycard got their hands on it pah!

Worse, I had a Barclaycard for work and Morgan Stanley for private. So now I ended up with 2 identical Barclaycards in my wallet, have to write what each is for on them with a marker pen.

Yes you can, I seem to remember I had to speak to a human to do it since it wasn't an option on the form.

So Barclaycard have a nice little cash back type scheme, called Freedom with nice logos and colours. There are already numerous places where you can easily earn points and get a warm feeling inside...except there's nowhere to spend the points! That little drawback of the scheme makes it quite pointless. I have got £100 of these points and there's nowhere to spend them!

I email the Barclaycard customer service people and keep getting Kafka-esque replies about where to spend the points, it's quite ridiculous. So there we are.

If anyone knows of anywhere that redeems these things let me know because I'm going to get £100 worth of whatever it is that they sell.

    Completely agree its a nightmare
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)
  • I am typing this whilst currently on hold to barclay Card Freedom refusing to go away until i know exactly where i can spend my £162.50, this is my fourth attempt.
It's not fair and a total scam as far as i am concerened i have had these points since May last year...they'll be telling me next i've lost them........No one at barclaycard has a clue where to spend these, if this indian man tells me again i can spend them at House of Fraser i'll go mad!!!!!!

When I was in Goldsmith's the jewellers the assistant told me about Barclaycard freedom as they accept them there. If you don't like anything in store they will order it in for you.

  • I just remembered this thread and thought i'd see if anyone has added to it,so its's nice to see that people have. I still have about £100 freedom points that i haven't managed to spend one penny of, which is nice. Last year i queried it with Barclaycard which they eventually had to upscale to a complaint in order to answer. After a few months their reply was something along the lines of me only being able to identify a place that redeems the points when i come to pay for something. As though i'll merrily wander round the shops buying random thing in the pointless hope of finding one of these places.

Goldsmiths; when you said they accept them there, maybe they meant you earn the points there but can't redeem the points there, which takes me back to square one. If Pizza Express redeem the points then i'm there! Can anyone confirm that you can redeem the points there?

No,Goldsmiths let you redeem points, not just earn them.
    And so does Pizza Express.
There is a website specifically for the Freedom scheme now and all the details are there!!
