personalised reg plate

Hi can anyone advise if DVLA drop their prices on Registration plates,i have enquired about a new 10 plate and the price they want is excessive,what happens if no one takes the plate?

I looked at one about ten years ago. At the time it was £400. It is still available at £400, so I would say no, they don't drop the price. £400 today is less money than £400 was ten years ago though of course!

Would you be putting the reg plate on a 2010 car as I thought that you could not put a new reg plate on an older car as it disguises the age and makes it appear newer.

Dizzy's right - you can't put a number plate on a car that would make it appear younger.

Could wait til 11 comes out and get CL11RUS and pop some screw caps over the 2nd 1 to make CLITRUS...

Or how about BO11OCK or BO11OXX

I'm not a fan of mis-represented plates that have missing or extra spaces and screws to make letters sadly.

Now that would be very naughty indeed. Those plates might not actually enter circulation ever. The govt passed some act a while ago to get rid of loads of 'offensive' plates.

I tried to get the spacing on the plates I was having made up for OH personalised registration, I was told that the plates had to be made up according to the spacing on the V5.

Eventually I had to go somewhere not dodgy (but you know what I mean) to get it done the way I wanted it.

I think the police take a dim view of the use of screwcaps to alter the appearance as well
