I replied to First Direct free £25 offer last year intending to close the account as soon as they paid up - but I;ve been hooked by their excellent services, especially text message banking, they msg me with a statement once a week on my phone (choose your own frequency) and you can set it to txt you when debits/credits over a certain amount hit the account or when you go below a given balance. Couldn't do without it now and have made it my main current accountl. Wouldn't use 'em for savings though.

I too recieved this today :-/...............is it just that the mail had already been sent out ???...............or will they be honoured ???

I'd have thought they would honour it as it is a direct invitation, and you have it in writing.

The offer has been removed from the web site so it is not open to just anyone. There is no mention that the offer is closed, withdrawn, void or canceled as such.

It is possible that they have changed to a by invitation only offer.
