Well so far this week hasn't really gone to plan. Have spent most evenings at the hospital with my nan who is getting more and more confused. She has been diagnosed with the early stages of dementia but they think there is also another cause for her current mental state but they have yet to find out what this is. Going to the hospital from work and getting home late is leaving me exhausted so unfortunately not much is getting done.

My dd is back from her dads tomorrow so there will be less visits to the hospital for me and a little bit more normality. So I am sat here at work writing myself a to do list for the weekend.

Money is awful still but I should scrape through to payday. Bit worried about my holiday as currently I have no summer clothes that fit as I have lost weight and no spending money for me or my daughter lol.

It sounds tough for you right now, doodledo - lists are a good way of coping, I find. So sorry to hear about your nan - I hope they find out what's wrong really soon.

  • Sorry to hear about your nan. It is difficult re the hols as everything seems to pile in all at once and makes it harder to think positively. I am sure something will turn up in fact i am sure it will.
What i used to do was save the family allowance and cut coupons out like mad from newspapers etc. Anything that would get me a deal on food when traveling etc.Think about things like forgotten Boots points on card- they can always be used for something towards hols. Nectar card, Tesco points??

Clothes wise, well how about a clothes swap party or go to a car boot and then see what is there, whilst selling your old stuff at the same time of course.

    Hope it all helps. x

Evening one and all how are we all. Had a hectic weekend, although spent most of it in bed yesterday with a chronic migraine. Spent 3.5 hours asleep and it still didn't shift.

My nan is still in hospital and isn't showing any signs of getting any better, sad thing now is she is getting very stroppy and aggresive as she doesn't understand why she is in hospital so have been getting lots of abuse from her. Although you know she doesn't mean it, it's not nice to hear.

On the MSE front have popped a few more bits on Ebay and have some bits coming off tonight so will be another few pennies in the bank.

I am so skint this month its unbelievable, haven't had a month like it for a long time :o

Well blimey how long has it been since I wrote in this diary?? Why am I so bad at keeping on track with it :j

Well I am currently on holiday, two weeks in the lovely Turkey. It's absolutely roasting and my little girl is a bit poorly today so I am sat in the air conditioned villa using the free WiFi. Happy Days :T

Update on me - Nan is now out of hospital after 7 weeks and is in a residential home. She picked up quite a bit whilst in hospital but unfortunately is still not in a state to be able to leave in her house anymore and I doubt she ever will. We found her a lovely place where she has her own little flat but has 24 hour carers, not ideal but the best place for her.

I start my new job when I get back from holiday, get back on the Thursday and then I start on the Monday. I am really looking forward to it, going to be very challenging but after years in the same job I am really looking forward to having my brain cells tested again.

What is it about holidays that make you reassess your life. Have been sat here reading and thinking about all the things I want to do and change in my life.

So my first job is to get my butt back on here and start getting back into the MSE lifestyle.

    Hi doodles.

    Your hols sounds lovely.

I was just off for 15 days in Finland, +27 degrees everyday, it was gorgeous!
I guess you just have time to reflect and evaluate what's happening in your life when you don't have the pressures of everyday life. I certainly got bit clearler what I want, now it's just the getting there bit... ;).

    Enjoy your hols!
