Rowans and Silver Birch are in dormant state at this time of year...keep roots moist till you can plant outside. Plant outside in ground as soon as you can. In a pot there is more chance of frost damage to roots. Won't sprout leaves until Spring..unless it's very mild where you live.
If you plant in pot and keep inside it will produce leaves but you will have to keep it inside till Spring...and then harden it off by gradual exposure to outdoors .0 -
I had to throw mine away too, all that waiting and for nothing.
It was definitely dead, parched, dry, leaves shrivelled. I put it into water for a few days but it didn't want to know. What a waste of time. Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's World!0 -

I was the idiot who forgot I'd ordered one, and opened the tube, all excited. Nothing came out, so I gave it a good shake. Soil, leaves and bits of twig all over the settee! Doh.
Looks pretty dead to me, but it's now in some water, and I'll bob it in the ground as soon as I get chance. It can only go one of two ways!Always look on the bright side of life ....la la la la la la la la0 -

I am doing exactly that - keeping twig in until Spring just so it has a good start. Have you got a room that is cooler as I don't think central heating will do it much good. Also, make sure to keep the soil moist so the roots take hold.0 -
