david_hellier wrote:Not looking too bad. According to my calculations you have £145.44 per week to spend on anything you like INCLUDING food. So every Monday write this amount in a book and deduuct what you spend on all those luxuries including food. Make sure you've got some left on Sunday and carry it forward to the next week. Don't be tempted to get all the cash out on Monday; you'll only spend it. If you do this your od will also go down by £20 pw.

I get the total as £1,000 exactly, not including money for overdraft, food, hair, going out or petrol. So that'd be £334 every month for that stuff.... I just can't imagine living on that for what is going to be the next few years. I so need to find a rich man! It's the only solution!Total Debt (not incl. mortgage) £35,612 25/8/06 :mad:0 -

£120 food (more than enough for one person!)
£35 hair

Alterntatively, do what I did and ask your salon hairdressers on the QT for her phone number if she wants to do it at home for cash. I'm sure she'd appreciate the extra money, especially if she's quite young.
As for food- I think Morrisons are good if you're living alone as they do single pieces of fish and meat, a piece of small salmon can sometimes be as cheap as 88p! They also have pre-packed veg in different price sizes which I like, I hate it when all the grapes come ni same sized punnets all costing £1.49!

Id say, given that you owe over 35k, getting your hair highlighted isnt really a priority.
Have you worked out using the snowball calculator when your debt free date is ? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I do totally agree that getting my hair done isn't a priority. I am also of the knowledge that if I'm miserable (and as stupid, selfish and materialistic as it may seem to some/most people), if I feel like a mess then I know I will spend money. I know that it is a vicious circle and am going to try and do as Ms Kensington recommended and either get a mobile hairdresser or get mine to do it on the sly. I do appreciate your blunt honesty though.
I haven't seen the snowball calculator yet.... I'll try and find it, ta.Total Debt (not incl. mortgage) £35,612 25/8/06 :mad:0 -
