Freebie idea

Would you pay 4.99 to someone who, armed with your name and address, would apply for free samples for a year on your behalf?
Samples would include shaving gel, perfume, after shave, shower gel, washing powder, tea bags etc.

I certainly wouldn't. With freebies it's sometimes the luck of the draw whether you get them or not too.
Has someone offered to do this for you?0 -
I was thinking of doing this (Want to reduce my mortgage). Rather than people having to trawl through freebie offers every day, I wanted to know if there is a market for this service.
Even for 4.99 I would have expected that one would be likely to get a reasonable return in the way of freebies, minus the sometimes timely form filling.0 -
I wouldn't. It's a good idea and i can see where you are coming from, but apart from it being extremely time consuming, especially if you have enough members to help reduce your mortgage - the whole point of a freebie is that it is a freebie - not having to pay any money.
Maybe for entering competitions or something it would work? you get competition clubs etc don't you?0 -
hum its a good idea in theory but i wouldn't pay £4.99 so i can get freebies which i can get for free if i do it myself.Make £10 a day challenge March 2013 £101.24 / £240 :j

Sounds good initally, but if it's a case of you filling in the site's forms on behalf of your 'client' then it doesn't seem so great.
For example, what if you forgot to tick the box that said 'if you do not want us to pass your details onto third party companies please tick this box', and the person became hounded with junk mail?OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -

I did think of that. As part of the service I would offer to register them with the Mailing Preference Service just in case I did fail to click (or unclick) a box. MPS registration would be free of course.0 -
I'm not sure it would work either.
When you go to a website. The owner/webmaster can see your IP address. If you had 100 members that you applied for, and they saw that 100 entries were from the same IP address. Likely they will ban all the entries you fill in. To the site owners, it would definately look like something dodgy is going on.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

MPS/TPS only works for unsolicited spam/junk mail. If you sign up for an offer that hasn't got an opt out from marketing. They could rightly send as much spam as they want. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Sorry but I have to go with the others on this and say no I wouldnt be interested either.
Most freebies are pretty marginal in their value, and are only interesting because they are free. Its only really once in a blue moon that they are really of any value, so personally I would only do it myself.
Also from a business point of view, it would be pretty time consuming to apply for x amount of times per customer and I would imaginewell in excess of an hour per customer, which may make your time very low hourly rate.0 -
Do all your own and multiple order.lush_walrus wrote:Most freebies are pretty marginal in their value.0
